Joe Bolton (Joe E. Brown) is seriously allergic to horses. So he acts more than a little unwisely when he pretends to be a passionate polo player -- all to win the heart of his horse-loving neighbor, Mary Hilton (Carol Hughes). Joe is assisted in this ruse by the Hiltons' sympathetic valet, Haywood (Skeets Gallagher). But the scheme backfires when Mary's polo-player brother is injured, opening a space on the team. Now Joe has to put his feet in the stirrups or risk losing Mary for good.
