07/12/2014 A compilation of various length shorts. Some funny, some boring. See more 05/29/2013 a bunch of slice-of-life Chinese nonsense short stories See more 05/28/2012 both "Junior" and "Civism" are really too trivial... but "Ah Wai The Big Head" is surprisingly good See more 03/20/2011 great script! Good music! Ho-Cheung Pang is probably the best HK director these days! See more 12/19/2010 Essentially a collection of disconnected routines and comedy bits, similar to the often lengthy and sometimes puzzling diversions Pang usually sprinkles his feature films with. Built on such a loose foundation, Trivial Matters never becomes more than just an inessential piece of marginalia for most audiences, but it also serves as a showcase of the director's vivid imagination and keen attention to detail. While the stories that make up the different parts range from instantly forgettable and pointless to brilliantly funny and achingly bittersweet, together they add up to an uneven whole. All, however, are recognizably Pang, for better or for worse. See more 05/28/2010 so so la... fits the name though - really trivial matters.. See more Read all reviews
