Audience Member It's just so boring. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Oh the angst of being in an indie band! Adapted from the excellent novel by Kevin Sampson â" former manager of The Farm â" Powder focuses on fictional band The Grams and their rise and fall; the tortured songwriter, the rival singer, the wannabe producers and the hungry journos all have their place. Sadly what worked in print doesnâ(TM)t quite translate to the big screen as the film jumps around with little regard for narrative flow, the characters â" and band in particular â" arenâ(TM)t given enough depth, and caricatures are expanded to such a level that it loses a lot of its realism. Nonetheless, still an interesting watch and the V festival footage is well done. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Geoffrey Macnab Independent (UK) Rated: 2/5 Oct 21, 2011 Full Review Derek Malcolm London Evening Standard One is struck virtually dumb by a screenplay that looks as if written on the back of an envelope. Rated: 1/5 Aug 26, 2011 Full Review Peter Bradshaw Guardian It's cliched and leaden, and moves with all the speed and manoeuvrability of a submarine in treacle. Rated: 1/5 Aug 25, 2011 Full Review Matthew Turner ViewLondon Rated: 1/5 Oct 21, 2011 Full Review Philip French Observer (UK) There's a dull excursion to Ibiza where a suicide and much drug-taking ensue, and a climactic sequence shot on location at the V festival in Suffolk. Aug 28, 2011 Full Review David Edwards Daily Mirror (UK) Last month, I reckoned Horrid Henry was a shoo-in for worst film of the year. Compared to Powder, however, it looks like The Battleship Potemkin. Rated: 1/5 Aug 26, 2011 Full Review Read all reviews
