Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com Inspiring and faithful without compromise yet written around universal themes. Rated: 3.5/4.0 Sep 20, 2020 Full Review Kevin Carr 7M Pictures I find the plot developments to be pretty predictable, and the resolutions tend to be a little too easy. Rated: 2/5 Jul 30, 2012 Full Review Mike McGranaghan Aisle Seat I wish the film had hit a little harder or had a few unpredictable plot elements, but as far as Christian movies aiming to make mainstream headway are concerned, this is certainly one of the better ones I've seen. Rated: 2.5/4 May 10, 2010 Full Review Avi Offer NYC Movie Guru Crowd-pleasing, heartfelt and inspirational. It's a wonderful, uplifting, and life-affirming movie. Rated: 8.5/10 Feb 1, 2010 Full Review Michael Dequina TheMovieReport.com Stan Foster's film confirms the unique, undeniable power this genre can achieve on both stage and film. Rated: 3/4 Feb 1, 2010 Full Review Kam Williams NewsBlaze Well-enough executed for a flick on a modest budget to forgive the tendency towards melodrama. With a tenderhearted payoff arriving when the Prodigal Daughter asks her father for forgiveness during a teachable moment of mutual redemption. Rated: 2.5/4 Jan 30, 2010 Full Review Read all reviews

Cee B Letoya Luckett did an excellent job as a young, innocent church girl who met the devil in Babbs, a washed out R&B singer. After leaving a very restrictive home and church, she pursued a career on stage. Clifton Powell, who did well as a gruff yet caring stage manager, tried to warn her about the coming heartbreak. It’s a great coming of age and first heartbreak film. Luckett can certainly sing and her music adds greatly to the movie.
