After an extremist militant group threatens their lives, a young couple (Ryan Phillippe and Mena Suvari) is forced to flee their Christian missionary post in the Kalahari Desert. After being granted passage aboard a rickety plane, piloted by a corrupt smuggler (Emile Hirsch), their escape to safety is nearly in reach. But when their aircraft loses power and crash lands, they discover a bigger threat awaits them as they find themselves stranded in the middle of an animal preserve populated by man-eaters -- lions, leopards, and hyenas. Injured, frightened, and being tracked by the extremists, this ragtag group of passengers must fight for survival from both man and beast where only the strong will survive.

Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue Between a harrowing plane crash and a vicious lion attack, the thrills are minimal in this survival saga that winds up as generic as its title. Jan 10, 2025 Full Review Kevin Wight The Wee Review There’s always something mildly repulsive about narratives that credit God for a protagonist’s survival but apportion no blame to Him for putting them into that scrape in the first instance, and it’s even worse when the film itself is a stinker. Rated: 1 Sep 4, 2024 Full Review John Serba Decider The plot’s too logic-deprived, the characters too wispy-thin, the situation too predictable, the seams of the production too visible. Jun 26, 2024 Full Review Jennie Kermode Eye for Film Hirsch, who is nothing if not prolific, hasn’t had great luck with his recent roles, but dominates most of this film and gets to remind us what he’s capable of. Rated: 3/5 Apr 29, 2024 Full Review Jeffrey M. Anderson Common Sense Media The best thing about this low-budget B thriller is its beautiful African nature footage, which seems to have come from a stock footage library. The human part of the story goes quickly and permanently off the rails. Rated: 2/5 Mar 29, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Sam A Lions behaviour wasn't realistic, but you need a bit of unreality for an exciting film. the attack scenes were tense, but you didn't get to see much of the gire at all, it was hinted at. What was good about this film is that you might think you knew who will die first or who will be alive at the end, but this film starts from predictive script. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/19/25 Full Review Sarah C This movie was awful. I felt like it was written by AI. It made no sense from a human perspective. The dialogue and music score were really bad. There were good actors in it too, but Ryan Phillipe's character was so annoying and Emile Herschel was the only believable character, but even his interactions with others were not believable. I return to my initial comment where it felt like it was written by AI because it was awkward and not inspiring and the characters felt like they were written by someone who isn't human and doesn't understand what it is to be a human or have a normal conversation. I would suggest not wasting your time watching this. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/25 Full Review Phantom F No horror.. just horrific. There was zero character development to lead to the words spoken and zero reasoning behind their actions. I wouldn’t even expect to see this sort of amateur story telling from a beginning filmmaker on their first attempt.. I think an absolute rookie would have accidentally created more connection to the characters. I ‘pray’ this filmmaker is not given another budget to blow for fear I might stumble upon the next trainwreck of a film and waste more of my life on random scenes sliced together. Save yourself! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/25 Full Review Donald S Shameless and shameful. I turned it on expecting to see Lions and all I saw is some characters stumble around the plains of Africa. There is more tension in the antiques roadshow than this, because they don't have any scenes of lions. Apparently Mena Suvari's character was eaten but we'll have to take their word on it. I turned it off half way through. The director should be ashamed of himself. Shameless exploitation of the viewer, shameful execution. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/25 Full Review Mike W The only thing I liked about the movie was the scenery/setting. Character development was thin. Why didnt they take the rifles or at least a rifle after the Boco guys were dead? An early giveaway of what was to come for the viewer was the depiction of a Saber Tooth Tiger. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/25 Full Review Jojo B Too much Jesus and not enough lion mauling. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/07/25 Full Review Read all reviews
