At 2½ hours plus, it also has its longueurs but there are some spectacularly beautiful moments and Gosling makes an engaging companion who makes something poignant as well as funny out of Grace’s unwelcome elevation to hero status.

In Hollywood, the hail mary is always the same, safe move, as movie after movie insists that forever in to the future, even at the end of the universe, the same hero will do the same thing over and over again.

I mean sure it's a feel good story and the Speilbergian touches are nice, and if it was on in the background while you clean your house, you wouldn't need to really pay attention to follow the cookie cutter storyline.

Outstanding acting by Ryan Gosling. He deserves the Academy Award for this performance. His Ryland Grace had me smiling (and yes, crying,too). Everything was wonderful—plot, acting, music, little Rocky, cinematography. Just a fantastic movie.

If The Martian and Interstellar had a baby without as much depth in the details of how and why. Just have to enjoy the story as is and not ask questions.

Extremely fun space adventure film with a new arguable sci fi duo. Comedic while serious/suspenseful at the right times just a nice feel good movie with characters you instantly fall in love with. Flashbacks may be a tad confusing for the little ones, but heavily recommend bringing the family for this one. Amazing story, great score from Daniel Pemberton, and jaw-dropping visuals. You’ll laugh, you may cry easy 9/10
