Jordan King Empire Magazine Long since dubbed the Irish Studio Ghibli, Cartoon Saloon’s latest may just be their own My Neighbor Totoro — an elemental, gentle, and incredibly cute animated adventure for all the family. Rated: 4/5 Aug 14, 2023 Full Review Wendy Ide Observer (UK) Welcome news for preschool puffin fans and for parents who fancy losing themselves in a gentle, gorgeously animated balm of a film. Rated: 3/5 Aug 13, 2023 Full Review Kevin Maher Times (UK) A tiny tremulous plot eventually surfaces, about a missing puffin egg, but mostly this is a gorgeous mood piece that displays immense sensitivity, both for the childlike characters on screen and for the wonderment of its impressionable audience. Aug 11, 2023 Full Review Tom Cassidy Common Sense Media This movie version of the popular preschool Irish animated TV show is charming, educational, fun, and bursting with positivity. Apr 23, 2024 Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com Perhaps the target demographic for the movie remains small, but anyone can genuinely enjoy “New Friends,” which provides a brightly animated and honeyed voiced journey with charming characters and vibrant environments. Rated: B+ Apr 10, 2024 Full Review Edward Porter Sunday Times (UK) Chris O’Dowd provides sweet narration, responding anxiously to the young characters’ misadventures.
