Stephanie Merry Washington Post "Pump" is fascinating at times, although the quick cutting and constant music take away from some engrossing moments. Rated: 2.5/4 Oct 9, 2014 Full Review Tomris Laffly Movie Mezzanine If nothing else, Pump will make you wonder whether you can hack your own car to make it run on an alternative fuel. Rated: B Sep 21, 2014 Full Review Martin Tsai Los Angeles Times As far as documentaries go, the film is exhaustively researched, interviewed and documented. Sep 18, 2014 Full Review Morgan Rojas Cinemacy The power of choice is important, and it is this privilege that makes us Americans, but unfortunately, the social impact of this film will be much less than what was hoped for. Nov 9, 2018 Full Review Josh Terry Deseret News (Salt Lake City) Pump may be a little too preoccupied with oil industry conspiracy theories (Prohibition was really an effort to keep the auto industry from making alcohol-powered cars?), but its big-picture message isn't a tough one to swallow. Nov 22, 2017 Full Review John Noonan FILMINK (Australia) With outright tenacity, Pump sets its teeth into the problem that establishing an alternative source of fuel is hard when the biggest stakeholders are the ones who would rather it didn't catch on. Tim G Pushing the alternative fuels. It glosses over some very complex issues though before reaching this part of its argument. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 12/28/16 Full Review Audience Member Fascinating and informative ; and if all the information presented in this documentary is true...then the United States is truly a nation run by greedy monopolizing baboons ! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Super interesting... I hope our government change like Brasil did... but we need a bold government Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member Loaded with information and lots of surprises that'll make your brain flip over. I think the fuel alternates are mostly a stop-gap though, so those parts of the story are cool but fleeting. Electric engines will take over, and relatively soon. But we should be aware of the people and techniques used to keep the public in the dark and on oil. There's good stuff here. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Pump has a number of old conspiracy theories, which are not backed by documentary evidence: the GM Trolley Car conspiracy, the US Prohibition stopping Ethanol Fuel. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member This is the most compelling movie of our generation and our battle with climate change and dependence on oil. We have the solution to the problem with ethanol and methanol, but propaganda from the oil industry has blinded us. Watch the movie and understand that the government is not the solution to this dilemma the people are. We just have to support it. The 2016 host of the Summer Olympics: Brazil has done, what we never knew was possible. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Read all reviews
