Ted Fry Seattle Times Even the title sounds like a hardheaded comeback to a proclamation nobody made. Rated: 2.5/4 Oct 19, 2007 Full Review Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter Susan Dynner's documentary about the past 30 years of punk music doesn't exactly break any new ground. But it does offer an entertaining overview that is leavened with humorous philosophical digressions. Aug 10, 2007 Full Review Neil Genzlinger New York Times Poor punk. Such a bundle of complexes, most of them encapsulated in the needlessly defensive title of Susan Dynner's documentary Punk's Not Dead. Rated: 2.5/5 Jul 27, 2007 Full Review David Lamble Bay Area Reporter The deftly-paced doc goes from sweaty, shirtless boys in 70s video replays to today's kid musicians blowing off steam playing dodgeball. May 21, 2020 Full Review Mike Scott Times-Picayune Punk's Not Dead is more than a nostalgia trip. Rather than just capturing what punk sounds like, Dynner shows us what it feels like, what punk really means -- present tense. Rated: 3/4 Jul 24, 2009 Full Review Jeffrey M. Anderson Combustible Celluloid Filmmaker Susan Dynner finally turns in the punk music documentary we all deserve, and one that punks can finally relate to. Aug 14, 2008 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Great sounds, nice video assembly, and it starts out good as a documentary honouring the roots and culture of the genre. It didn't seem to progress much in the second half and had troubles holding my attention (aside from the musical pieces)... I maybe was distracted by wanting to crank some Rancid on a Friday evening. ;) Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member overall the best punk documentary in my opinion Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Brill I love it an totally agree with most the young punks when they say quite rightly Good Chalotte an bloody sum 41 are so not punk! its great to see that new young bands are around too to real punk bands not just commercial copies, with a pop sound Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member (Watched Wed 23 May 2012) Yet another punk documentary that deifies the British bands we've all heard about (yeah yeah Clash Sex Pistols whatever) and completely glosses over the US (and even UK) punk underground. And when it does turn stateside it treats the likes of Rancid (I mean, really?) with far more reverence than they ever deserve. Try American Hardcore for the real story. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member as a documentaries this movie is outstanding i'm a huge fan of the genre and this movie does justice that punk isn't dead its just getting started and there are a lot of punk icons that are interview in this movie so if your looking for a movie to watch then try this one. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Long Live Punk Rock. This is a great overview what it's all about and what happened to it. I liked all the bands shown in this film except Social Distorion (I don't think they were signifcant to this film they aren't really punks). Great movie I expect to see more like these.
