There's a lack of polish and, more importantly, an uninhibited demeanor to Davis's script which work well for the subject matter Go to Full Review

A fairly compelling movie, but when one realizes that the screenplay was penned by a 14-year-old gal...it adds a whole new perspective to all the angst being tossed around. Go to Full Review

07/20/2016 Wow! Cool idea well executed. Look out for this writer/actress and for director Cindy Baer. Gripping, honest. Definitely watch! See more 07/14/2016 Crazy stuff man check it out! See more 06/12/2016 An interesting indie flick. Give it a go See more 06/12/2016 Interesting and different...definitely worth the watch! See more 08/28/2014 With the recent passing of Robin Williams, depression and suicide have become hot button topics in the media. In Purgatory House we delve deep into life after death, more specifically what happens to those that commit suicide. The overall theme of this movie is.. suicide IS NOT the answer! However, it's not balled up in a quaint religious package or in the guise of propaganda. This is a subjective view of how an "easy out" has disastrous consequences. Kudos to the 14yr old screenwriter for consistency in this lofty depiction of the after life. Purgatory House is riddled with intricacies and subtleties. Once here your body can handle as much drugs and alcohol with unyielding tolerance. All of your habits from earth transverse into Purgatory House. You walk in with the clothes on your back, and in your hotel room is a big screen tv with only 1 channel.. earthTV. Here's where you can watch realtime activity of your friends and family back on .. you guessed it - Earth! The one thing I took away from this film was the underlying factor of Hope. No matter what difficulties you face, if you ride them out - you just may weather the storm. There's no easy answers and there's no quick fixes, all you can do is live your life to the fullest. In conclusion we are left to reflect on our choices, things may or may not get better, but you'll never know unless you let life take its course.
