Martin Tsai Critic's Notebook It's too bad the post-production work is just not up to snuff, because there's a lot to like here. Mar 7, 2022 Full Review Jimmy Cage Jimmy Cage Movie Reviews (YouTube) PUSHPA: THE RISE is a damn stylish and super cool mass spectacle with a strong Allu Arjun and great songs. That the dramaturgy leaves something to be desired can be forgiven given the high amount of fun. Rated: 7/10 Feb 24, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews

Saroj P When Pushpa: The Rise hit the screens, it quickly became a sensation, not just in India but also in Nepal. The movie’s gripping storyline, coupled with Allu Arjun’s powerful performance, captivated the hearts of Nepali audiences, many of whom are ardent fans of South Indian cinema. How does anybdy watch this crap? Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/12/24 Full Review Audience Member MUST WATCH Allu Arjun Performance is Amazing Hats-off to the Director Sukumar Brilliantly made Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/09/24 Full Review Harish N "Pushpa: The Rise" is a high-octane action drama that throws you headfirst into the gritty world of red sandalwood smuggling in the Seshachalam forests of India. With its captivating performance by Allu Arjun, energetic soundtrack, and stunning visuals, this film delivers a wild and entertaining ride. Allu Arjun is truly magnetic as Pushpa Raj, a laborer who rises through the ranks of the smuggling syndicate with his cunning and audacity. His unique mannerisms, powerful dialogue delivery, and sheer screen presence make Pushpa an instantly iconic character. The film's pacing is excellent, keeping you engaged with its blend of action, drama, and unexpected twists. The story unfolds against the backdrop of a ruthless criminal underworld, where power struggles and betrayals are commonplace. The soundtrack is infectious, with Devi Sri Prasad's energetic compositions adding to the film's overall vibrancy. The cinematography is stunning, capturing the beauty and danger of the forest setting with sweeping shots and vibrant colors. Sukumar's direction is confident, blending stylized action sequences with moments of raw emotion. While the film's plot may not be entirely original, its execution and the sheer charisma of Allu Arjun elevate it to a highly entertaining experience. "Pushpa: The Rise" is a must-watch for fans of action dramas and anyone who appreciates a captivating performance and a well-crafted cinematic spectacle. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/04/24 Full Review Yash B "Pushpa: The Rise" is a messy movie, but I have to say there is entertainment value to get out of it. There are many action scenes and catchy songs that keep its long runtime moving for the most part. I do feel the movie is bloated with too many things going on, and probably could have told an effective origin story without so many elements. I think the main character isn't necessarily likable, but I admittedly did find myself curious to see what he would do next, and it puts him ahead of other similar overly macho Indian characters I have seen in other stories. Overall, the movie is not trying to be anything besides blockbuster entertainment, and despite it being a bit all over the place, I liked it enough to be at least curious about where it goes from here in part two.
