Michael McNay Guardian It is based on a story by John Wyndham, but after that spurt from the starting blocks it falls flat on its face. kevin w An experiment gone wrong ... and a scientist finds himself in another world, one just like ours except for different occurrences (like Kennedy wasn't killed in Dallas), a parallel world. In that world he's a married man, and he falls for his wife (Joan Collins) only she's not his wife exactly. She's the wife of the other him, the one he's switched places with. So it begins like science fiction but it's actually a romance (cue the violins, cue the flowers, cue even more violins!). Can two people from different worlds find a love that can last forever? Over-the-top and dramatic, but an inoffensive offering, similar to Somewhere In Time. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Intriguing time travel story. Quest for Love is a 1971 British science fiction drama film directed by Ralph Thomas and starring Joan Collins, Tom Bell and Denholm Elliott. It is based on the story Random Quest by John Wyndham.
