This movie is in an unusual middle ground: too mild for horror fans and too scary for those just starting with the genre. Go to Full Review

The child actors far outperform their adult counterparts, who either can’t act, or are poorly directed, ultimately keeping you from being fully invested in an otherwise fun spooky film. Go to Full Review

we can admire the simplicity of the story and the warm sense of nostalgia it brings. Further, its purpose as a cozy little scary movie serves as an excellent door opener to future horror fans, and that is something worth celebrating. Go to Full Review

Pumpkinhead doesn't always work, but it makes a valiant attempt to lightly scare its younger audience, and it isn't afraid to go for a shocking finale where not everything is wrapped up tight with a perfect happy ending. Go to Full Review

R.L. STINE'S PUMPKINHEAD is a new Tubi horror movie made for a younger audience. It could be a solid choice for Halloween for the entire family. However, this also means any hardcore horror fan shouldn't expect anything too wild or intense. Go to Full Review

Justin W Dec 8 This movie has a hard time knowing what it wants to be. Some scenes are obviously for kids and is about as scary as Goosebumps. Other times it seems like it's trying to be more of a teen horror like Stranger Things, yet at others it definitely crosses into adult territory and would definitely be too intense for really young viewers. The tone of the music is goofy which makes it pretty hard to take even remotely seriously. Also, it's pretty confusing since there is already a long running Horror series called Pumpkin Head with a similar, but different story (the first one of those is pretty classic). This movie has nothing to do with that franchise. That being said the movie looks pretty good and is mildly entertaining. Just don't expect too much. See more TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch Dec 5 RL Stein’s Pumpkinhead is a surprisingly fun and engaging kid-friendly horror film that balances suspense with lighthearted, playful moments. The story captures a Goosebumps-style vibe, giving just enough spookiness without becoming too dark or intense, making it perfect for younger audiences while still entertaining adults who enjoy campy horror. The cast delivers solid performances, each actor bringing energy and personality that helps the story feel alive and the characters relatable. The direction maintains a steady pace, mixing tension and humor effectively, and the screenplay is cohesive, with dialogue that’s clever and accessible. Visually, the film impresses with practical effects and makeup that give the Pumpkinhead creature a tangible presence, while set design and lighting create a whimsical, spooky world. Overall, Pumpkinhead is an underrated, charming film with a creative story, engaging performances, and memorable visuals. The adult acting wasnt great. I appreciate the attempt at a new adaptation though. Tim Treakle See more Jadyn R Nov 3 It was okay overall, but definitely not my favorite. The story had some good moments, but the ending really let me down. I felt genuinely sad for Sam seeing Finn and his mom forget him was just heartbreaking. I wanted a better closure for his character. See more ARNEZ C @Arny6tearz Nov 2 I felt like it was decent seeing that scarecrow was so well designed the story was kinda basic but I felt it did a decent of keeping interest I do want to see a second one because the ending was like what the heck.
