Darcy (Dev Patel) and Daphne (Rosy McEwen) Davenport are freshly decamped from London and taking up residence in an isolated cottage deep in the Welsh countryside in search of creative renewal and acoustic inspiration. When the couple set about exploring their new environs, recording instruments in tow, Darcy stumbles upon a "faerie circle" that emits a strange, unidentifiable frequency; this odd discovery is followed closely by the appearance of an otherworldly child (Jade Croot) who claims to live nearby and is eager to befriend the Davenports. Soon the child becomes a fixture in their household, alternately ingratiating himself and raising suspicions, and exposing unacknowledged rifts and unexamined secrets that threaten to wreak psychological and spiritual havoc in the lives of his makeshift adoptive parents.

Norm V Very dry horror that is hard to understand. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 09/17/25 Full Review Will Definitely an interesting vibes movie, but kinda fell apart at the end. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/17/25 Full Review christine i Very strange story. But the acting was great. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/12/25 Full Review Don L A Haunting Folk Tale That Will Give You All the Feels, Even If You Don't Know Why I walked away from Rabbit Trap with one thought: "I have no clue what the hell that story was about." Yet, even in my confusion, I knew I had seen something special. It was a film that I absolutely loved, one that haunted me and touched me deeply, even when I couldn't quite grasp the full picture. It’s a movie that doesn't just tell you a story; it makes you feel it, and for that alone, it's a masterpiece of "show, don't tell" filmmaking. The central idea of the film is right in its title. The lesson is that to trap any creature, you have to sincerely offer it the one thing it's truly hungry for, and you have to mean it. The story brilliantly explores this theme through the unsettling relationship between a grieving couple and a mysterious local boy they befriend. You watch as each character seems to be offering exactly what the other desperately needs, blurring the lines between sanctuary and a very dangerous entrapment. Without giving anything away, the journey this film takes you on is tense and deeply emotional. The quiet, atmospheric setting of the Welsh countryside creates a constant sense of unease, making you feel that with every choice the characters make, something risky and irreversible is about to happen. The performances are subtle and powerful, conveying a world of pain and desire without needing to spell it out. It’s a story that unfolds with the logic of a dark fairy tale. Rabbit Trap is a film that proves you don't need all the answers to be profoundly moved. It gets under your skin and stays there, a sad, beautiful, and haunting experience I won't soon forget. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/06/25 Full Review azizah o Not something I'd recommend to anyone to watch I would not watch again. Very slow moving and frustrating! I never got to an Oh now I see moment.
