Liz Shannon Miller Consequence Death, Let Me Do My Special feels like it belongs to the next phase of creative works determined to make sense of these compounded waves of grief from the pandemic. Oct 15, 2024 Full Review Sean L. McCarthy Decider Even if you’ve never seen an episode of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, you’ll get a lot out of seeing Bloom speak openly about grief while keeping it harmonious. Oct 20, 2024 Full Review Jonathon Wilson Ready Steady Cut It’s a considered look back and a hopeful look forward, as well as a reassuring acknowledgement that, in the meanwhile, we were all there, we all felt it, and we can all get through it together. Rated: 4/5 Oct 15, 2024 Full Review Danielle Solzman Solzy at the Movies Rachel Bloom: Death, Let Me Do My Special allows the comedian to be very cathartic in reliving 2020 and beyond--the comedy is just as effective watching at home as it was with a communal audience. Estel A Rachel Bloom is simply a star. There is no one who does comedy-and-everything-else like she does, and this special is the most amazing pinnacle of her genius. You just must watch it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/05/24 Full Review Birithivy Y Rachel Bloom: Death, Let Me Do My Special - 8/10. Another case of not knowing the comic’s previous work beforehand. But, this was interesting! I wouldn’t say it was laugh out loud funny, but I did love the ingenuity and out of the box thinking while watching the special. What first starts off as a possible heckler (I’m actually surprised that we never get hecklers in specials. Maybe its edited to feel that way), turns into a meta and interesting way around the concept of a special. Loved what Bloom tried here, and even though the jokes were good but not necessarily amazing in my opinion, I loved the creativity and format this special had! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/26/24 Full Review Nathan L Excellent special from the amazing Rachel Bloom. Rollercoaster of emotions, wrapped in some wonderfully Rachel musical numbers. Genius. Can’t rate it high enough. David Hull is delicious in it, damn that voice and those dimples. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/16/24 Full Review Read all reviews
