Death, Let Me Do My Special feels like it belongs to the next phase of creative works determined to make sense of these compounded waves of grief from the pandemic. Go to Full Review

Rachel Bloom's performance is earnest, and the choice to lean more heavily into her background in musical theatre rather than choose a stand-up format helps elevate the story's grander moments. Go to Full Review

Even if you’ve never seen an episode of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, you’ll get a lot out of seeing Bloom speak openly about grief while keeping it harmonious. Go to Full Review

It’s a considered look back and a hopeful look forward, as well as a reassuring acknowledgement that, in the meanwhile, we were all there, we all felt it, and we can all get through it together. Go to Full Review

Rachel Bloom: Death, Let Me Do My Special allows the comedian to be very cathartic in reliving 2020 and beyond--the comedy is just as effective watching at home as it was with a communal audience. Go to Full Review

Kelvin S Aug 15 Really just not clever, not funny. Very corny and even the audience looks like they’re being tortured See more Emily A Dec 26 Rachel Bloom (and David Hull) are brilliant comedians, actors, and musicians. If you’ve seen Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, you won’t be surprised at how raunchy, hilarious, and profound this special is. If you’ve never seen the show, prepare to meet your new favorite creative team. This special is moving and raw, and of course, it’s funny. A++. See more Estel A 12/05/2024 Rachel Bloom is simply a star. There is no one who does comedy-and-everything-else like she does, and this special is the most amazing pinnacle of her genius. You just must watch it. See more Birithivy Y 10/26/2024 Rachel Bloom: Death, Let Me Do My Special - 8/10. Another case of not knowing the comic’s previous work beforehand. But, this was interesting! I wouldn’t say it was laugh out loud funny, but I did love the ingenuity and out of the box thinking while watching the special. What first starts off as a possible heckler (I’m actually surprised that we never get hecklers in specials. Maybe its edited to feel that way), turns into a meta and interesting way around the concept of a special. Loved what Bloom tried here, and even though the jokes were good but not necessarily amazing in my opinion, I loved the creativity and format this special had! See more Nathan L 10/16/2024 Excellent special from the amazing Rachel Bloom. Rollercoaster of emotions, wrapped in some wonderfully Rachel musical numbers. Genius. Can’t rate it high enough. David Hull is delicious in it, damn that voice and those dimples. See more Read all reviews
