When film student Jim Mitchell (Emilio Estevez) is scolded for making films that dwell too much on female anatomy, he doesn't take the hint, but instead starts making pornographic films professionally. He ropes in his younger brother, Artie (Charlie Sheen), and together they open a very successful studio. Amid constant partying and mountains of cocaine, they manage to make one of the most successful porn films of all time before their personal demons get the better of them.

The brother angle does give this story a distinctive dimension, and the brothers Estevez and Sheen, their pates shaved to help them represent the odd-looking Mitchells, do an uncanny, genuinely impressive job.

Tasteful, dramatic, and fascinating, "Rated X" is a damned good movie that is sorely overlooked. This is one wild ride of a biopic.

Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom

While it may not give us a full sense of what these men's work would incite, 'Rated X' is salvaged by two capable leads and plenty of fun with behind the scenes antics. Seeing how something like porn is almost treated as an art of its own is fascinating, even if the narrative jumps from film to film.
