Dolores Quintana Dolores Quintana SWING LOW is a tension filled, realistic horror movie about the evil that men do and how things can go very wrong very quickly. It presents a strong female character who isn’t waiting around to be rescued and I like that. Dec 28, 2022 Full Review Richard Crouse Richard Crouse A no-frills thriller of the hunter and the hunted that attempts to address moral questions about violence and revenge but instead gets caught glorifying them. Rated: 1.5/5 Jan 29, 2021 Full Review Kat Hughes THN Although technically sound, and featuring some stomach-turning imagery, Ravage suffers from a poorly thought through narrative device. Rated: 3/5 Oct 8, 2020 Full Review Lucy Buglass The Horrorcist This film wastes no time in showing us its brutal nature, with the opening sequence making viewers uncomfortable immediately. Rated: 3/5 Oct 2, 2020 Full Review Andrew Parker The Gate It's wrung from the overused, oily rags of every other knock off of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, The Hills Have Eyes, and Wake In Fright, but with little of the shock value. Rated: 2/10 Sep 9, 2020 Full Review M.V. Moorhead Less Hat, Moorhead I'm over movies where young women mewl and wail and scream for their lives. This movie's nods to female empowerment weren't enough to override this distaste. Aug 24, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews

Jeremy A A weird one. The timeline is funky. The cop is annoying. The kills sucked. The end... 2.5* Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/25/24 Full Review Brett F Atrocious movie. Unbelievably implausible moments throughout lead to one of the stupidest endings a movie could have. This movie is an example of a writer having one idea (to do with bovine stomach acid, but I don't want to say more for spoilers. Then again, forget worrying about spoliers; don't waste your time with this movie anyway) and trying to build a movie around it. It didn't work. Avoid. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/30/24 Full Review Jeffrey P Follows a few horror tropes, has some flashes of maybe being something early on, decent development and twists throughout. Does enough to tread water, things could have been more fleshed out. The ending was rather gruesome and somewhat jaw dropping. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/12/23 Full Review Andrea P This movie was awesome…. The lead actress was amazing!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/23/23 Full Review Peter W Overall, we all love a good revenge tale and Ravage, for the most part, delivers a pleasing and gritty time even if it feels familiar. Actress Annabelle Dexter-Jones is easily the best highlight of the film, and I enjoyed her performance right from the start. Bruce Dern is given very little screen time, which is disappointing as he is the top billing.  The film is filled with moments that are either predictable or pure fluke, and the ending was downright baffling and not in a positive way. Given my investment and the journey this film took me on, I felt robbed. Those who enjoy revenge films should certainly check this out, even if it misses core elements. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/29/23 Full Review ronald h OK. You're a young lady, a nature photographer, taking pics in the woods. You come upon a group of men feeding another man to a dog (a pit bull, of course). You drive to the local sheriff's office to report what you saw. He wants to see the pics. You inexplicably left your camera in your pickup truck. When you're in the truck retrieving the camera, someone hooks you up to a tow truck and hauls you away. You don't even notice anyone hooking up your truck, and you don't even attempt to jump out. Having a bit of trouble buying this? I'm not done. The tow truck takes you to a barn, where a man and his lowlife goons bind your hands and feet and hang you upside down from a hook, 10 feet off the ground. Then, they go to get beer. While they're gone, you, a petite blonde nature photographer, do some maneuvers that would make a professional contortionist jealous and escape. Now, you're running through the woods barefoot, being chased by the bad guys. You find an old pair of boots conveniently left in an abandoned cabin and put them on. You hear the bad guys coming after you on motorcycles. You string a wire across the path between two trees. One guy on a motorcycle hits the wire exactly at the neckline, and he's decapitated. You could then take his motorcycle and escape, but instead, you start running through the woods again. Are you still with me? Those are just a few examples of the eye-rolling implausibility in this nonsensical flick in which Annabelle Dexter-Jones plays a conflation of G.I. Jane and Wonder Woman disguised as a nature photographer. I understand that filmmaker Teddy Grennan wanted to ignore any kind of nuance or character development and just make a pure survivalist thrill ride, but the events in the film are so absurd that the thrills are relegated to the back seat. Later in the proceedings, Bruce Dern appears as a lone cabin-dweller, but he just adds to the silliness. He has to speak lines like "Torture is he barometer of a nation's creativity" and "Mother Nature is the true lord of pain." I'm recommending that everybody watch this one. It's so ridiculous, you'll be entertained. Just have a cool washcloth handy to soothe your forehead after slapping it so many times. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews
