isla s An interesting biopic documentary about someone I wasn't familiar with before. I admire his work and it was interesting to see how what he'd done has influenced more contemporary film makers. This is worth a watch if your interested in special effects or stop motion animation. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Robert M Good portrayal of arguably the best SFX artist on the planet. Love Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and other CGI classics? I would advise seeing the origins of these which include just about any old movie involving the sleek animation by Harryhausen himself. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/07/16 Full Review Audience Member WARNING YOU HAVE GOT TO WATCH THE END OF THE CREDITS THROUGHOUT THIS MOVIE AS SOMETHING HAPPENES AT THE END OF THE CREDITS THROUGHOUT THIS MOVIE........ Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member I seem to always say this but these talking head Documentaries really need to be a one hour DVD extra not a full length feature. Harryhausen comes across as a really likeable guy and the special effects work still looks great today (if a little less convincing). The queue of big name Directors gushing about him gets a little dull mind you but this is a worthy watch for anyone who loved Sinbad or Clash of the Titans on a Sunday morning as a kid...didn't we all? Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Informative doc about the influential stop motion genius. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Andrew Pulver Guardian Harryhausen emerges as a charming, likable pioneer, a mood helped along by the adoring nature of this profile. Rated: 3/5 Nov 8, 2012 Full Review Antonia Quirke Financial Times The most fascinating point made in the film is that it was Harryhausen who invented the way we all think dinosaurs moved. Those gestures - adopted as truth even by palaeontologists - first came from him. Rated: 3/5 Nov 8, 2012 Full Review Robbie Collin Daily Telegraph (UK) A shallow, fannish tribute to the stop-motion master who made The 7th Voyage of Sinbad. Rated: 2/5 Nov 8, 2012 Full Review Joseph Walsh CineVue It may not be lavishly produced (unlike many of the films RH worked upon), but above all it functions well as a thunderous round of applause for the career of a much-loved movie magician. Rated: 4/5 Aug 23, 2018 Full Review Alistair Harkness Scotsman This affectionate fan tribute to the legendary stop-motion special effects artist is distinguished by the fact that the fans paying tribute are among the most successful directors in the world. Rated: 3/5 Jan 21, 2013 Full Review Siobhan Synnot Scotsman A little too exhaustive in its detail, but if you loved his febrile creations in Jason And The Argonauts or the Sinbad movies, it's worth catching.
