Michael W Realm Of Shadows takes a few watches to really understand, and though a bit clunky and confusing at times, it really was a enjoyable thriller (not horror) but thriller anthology. Tony Todd gives a strong performance as catholic priest Fr. Dudley, perhaps his only role ever as a man of the clergy, and his arrival in the film was worth the wait. The 'Cadaver' segment starring Jodi Lynn Thomas was wonderfully eerie and disturbing, especially since it is supposedly based on a true story. Erika Monet Butters steals the show as the insidious 'Nalum'. Her screen presence and acting is top notch, and I found out recently it is her real singing voice, which is just astounding. Jimmy Drain does a very solid job acting and directing in the segments which, and he definately has his own unique vision with Realm. Most of all i loved the tie in to the macguffin of the piece, which is the legendary "Dagger of Destiny"! I can't wait to see how this weaves into future stories in the film. This seems to be the first outing for Drain, but it doesn't look like its the last, so I really look foward to seeing more from him and ThunderKnight Entertainment. Lastly I highly reccomend REALM OF SHADOWS to thriller/horror fans, its a mix of goosebumps and creepshow with a twist of Twilight Zone! This anthology film gets creepier with each segment, all tied together by a quest for the Dagger of Destiny. Tony Todd is awesome as Father Dudley, trying to save his friend Robby (played by Jimmy Drain) from a demonic alter ego. One standout story, "Cadaver," follows a girl trying to join a witch coven disguised as a dance troupe. Erika Monet does a great job it as the witch Nalum, adding to the film's spooky vibe. If you're into indie horror and psychological thrillers, "Realm of Shadows" is a thrilling and chilling ride you don't want to miss. I wanted to give it a try because I had heard interesting things about it. And I was surprised, to say the least! There was something very raw and something completely different about this film that drew me in and held my attention. I actually wanted to keep watching it to see what happened next. And, the ending even got me wanting more. I won't ruin the ending, but it was skillfully done. This movie is not your normal movie at all.
