Alexandra Heller-Nicholas Fangoria Part NYC travelogue, part teen comedy with sprinklings of horror, Red Hook is a perfectly serviceable if not somewhat lightweight slasher film, playful in its best moments, if not a little weak in its worst. Mar 12, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member A psycho killer arranges a scavenger hunt so that he can easily lure his victims to places where he can stab them to death. And the players can't even call the police on him because it's against the rules of the scavenger hunt. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Lame, boring and uninspired who-dunnit. Easy skip. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member lame skip this piece of shit Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Is this a movie? Seriously? Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Not too bad. The wrap up is a little rushed and predictable, but this isn't the sort of movie where you expect to find anything clever. The premise is interesting; the execution is ok. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Red Hook is basically your typical piece of crap slasher, but it's weird because it almost feels like ti doesn't know what genre it is. While the movie starts with a young girl witnessing her sister's brutal murder, it then progresses into a narrative about a paranoid young woman starting her Freshman year at a university in New York City. The film then starts to feel like a romantic comedy as we hear cheesy songs that seem like they are being sung by the poor-man's version of Tracy Chapman and Sarah McClachlan (sp?). Of course, then, it diverts into a typical slasher narrative that is about as predicable as they come. Somewhat enjoyable, Red Hook is ultimately not fit for anyone except the die-hard horror fan who just needs something new to watch. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews
