Maka, a Tongan superfan, will do whatever it takes to get tickets to the Tonga v France Rugby World Cup game -- even if that means promising to deliver a brass band for the pre-match entertainment. Only problem is, the band doesn't exist and Maka has four weeks to make one.

David Stratton The Australian Red, White and Brass is an engaging feel-good movie based, we’re assured, on real events. Rated: 3.5/5 Jun 27, 2023 Full Review Rachel West That Shelf The Tongan word “māfana” comes up more than once during Red, White and Brass. Described as the overwhelming feeling of warmth and emotion one gets, it’s a fitting word for the film itself. Dec 6, 2023 Full Review Sarah Ward Concrete Playground An affectionate and joyous film that doesn't just pay tribute to events that clearly begged for the big-screen treatment from the moment that they happened... but to the community and culture goes all-in when it comes to national pride. Jul 22, 2023 Full Review David Griffiths Subculture Entertainment Light hearted but works on every level - thoroughly enjoyable and is guaranteed to make you laugh and inspire you at the same time. Rated: 3.5/5 Jul 21, 2023 Full Review Leigh Paatsch Herald Sun (Australia) A nice tale, told in a pleasing and undemanding fashion. Rated: 2.5/5 Jun 28, 2023 Full Review Oti For Your Reference Podcast An exceptional accomplishment, skilfully pairing enjoyable humour with a narrative that radiates joy and positivity. This captivating cinematic journey creates an indelibly uplifting experience. A must-watch! Rated: 4/5 Jun 26, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Aimee M Coolest feel good film. This movie has so much heart and the fact that it’s based on a true story just makes it even better. Im not Tongan but i still swelled with pride for my NZ and Wellington community made up of all our beautiful people x Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/13/24 Full Review Maeve O The most delightful and hysterically funny movie that I've seen in ages. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/17/24 Full Review - - really great and fun movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/07/24 Full Review FunnyGamingBits Great movie honestly the only time critics were right Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/28/23 Full Review Matiu B A whole lotta fun, with a nice message and I just really like most NZ films. It's also cool to see the Tongan & Maori representation (I'm not Tongan, I'm Maori). It's not the perfect film but very relatable to me and something I would re-watch a lot. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/23/23 Full Review eni t Absolute gem!! I happened to fly into New Zealand on March 25th to pick up my Mom and return to the states. The premier was on March 23rd. My New Zealand family had already seen it and couldn't wait to take me. Love love love the story. There are more amazing stories from the 2011 Rugby World Cup event. The cast and dialogue are phenomenal. It's crazy to think some of them was their debut to acting. Can't wait to own the digital copy. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/15/23 Full Review Read all reviews
