Audience Member It is true that the plot is a bit weak but the you don't watch such kind of movies for their plot anyhow. The fighting seen are really good, better than in most other action movies. There is one scene in particular with very good graplings. A must see if you like to watch fights! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Way better than the current 17% it has on RT. It's no Ip Man, mind you, but the martial arts are top notch and it's oh so violent fun. That's what I like about Netflix- I'd never be exposed to a Chilean movie any other way if not for my subscription and this movie was fun. Mark Dujsik RogerEbert.com The fights ... become a bit repetitive. These wouldn't matter as much if "Redeemer" had a distinct personality beyond the occasional flash from the villains. Rated: 2.5/4 Jun 12, 2015 Full Review Martin Tsai Los Angeles Times Unfortunately for English speakers, nothing here is lost in translation. Everything is exactly as lame as it sounds. Jun 11, 2015 Full Review Simon Abrams Village Voice Though Chilean western/martial-arts hybrid Redeemer may stall whenever it's not in ass-kicking gear, leading man Marko Zaror is charming enough to make you want to overlook his latest vehicle's humorless posturing. Jun 10, 2015 Full Review Jaime Grijalba Vague Visages This is a standard action/martial arts film with some good choreography and cinematography, surrounded and packaged in a barebones weak storyline. Still, it’s better than more ambitious fiction films. Dec 1, 2023 Full Review Ethan Alter Film Journal International Offers solid fight sequences, but little else.
