Twiggy H Not sure why it's titled as 'reform school girls'.. it's not a school *lol* it's a juvenile prison for convicted criminals on lesser sentence. It is however quite well put together as a film. Not long into the film, it's clear to see it was written by men and probably with the intention of being watched by men *lol* lots of young women (supposedly 16yrs old and younger - dont let Wendy O Williams appearance in the film fool you!) walking around in g string underwear with the occasional segments of titties out. Overly charactertorred, it makes a point to retain comedic value to a fictional story, though little to nor of the story is humorous. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 09/22/24 Full Review dave l A wonderful example of camp at it's finest. Take this film for what it is and you will thoroughly enjoy it. It's simply a campy, trashy, throwback to the 50's "Women In Prison" flicks. Wendy O Williams (lost too young) is superb as the misunderstood bad girl. Are there flaws? Yes. Many in fact. The genre it emulates was flawed as well. The actresses are far too old to believably fit their roles…the plot is lacking substance…but the cinematography fits the style and the soundtrack is excellent. Enjoy it for all its inane schlock and just go along for the ride. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member For a B movie, it is actually okay. My friends and I watched this on HBO latenight, because Wendy O. Williams (The Plasmatics) was in it. Playing 'Charlie', the de facto leader of the tough girls gang. Pat Ast is quite believable as the obnoxious, overbearing dorm matron Edna. Whom all the girls hate, but fear. Linda Carol stands out as street-smart tough girl Jenny, who takes on Charlie when things turn upside down. The rest of the cast holds their own okay. There is nothing blockbuster here whatsoever. But the movie holds its own against the likes of Ghoulies and The Gate. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review kevin c I love 80's movies and this entry into the women in prison or in this case juveniles in reform school, is definitely a guilty pleasure. Punk icon Wendy O Williams is the tough chick in the reform school. You really have to suspend belief to believe she's a juvenile. I love that everyone in this juvenile reform school is usually only dressed in panties and lingerie. Crazy kids. Nevertheless this is sleazy fun. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member 80s sex romp about a woman who owns a reform school. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member "So Young, So Bad...SO WHAT!?!?" This is exploitation, camp tra$h at it's best. Reform School Girls was TOTALLY in on the joke - this masterpiece is up there with "The Boys In The Band" and "Network" for films that decided to circumvent the genre - and let the audience in on the joke. Shocking, Repulsive, Hilarious, at times heart-felt - this movie is everything John Waters hoped to achieve with any of his films. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Read all reviews
