Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews An agreeable lightweight spy comedy starring William Powell, who gives it a Thin Man comical spin. Rated: B- Jun 16, 2021 Full Review Ann Ross Maclean's Magazine International spy pictures, even the poorer ones, are always bound to be fairly exciting, and Rendezvous happens to be one of the good ones. Jul 22, 2019 Full Review Helen Brown Norden Vanity Fair I couldn't understand the plot very well, but it runs on entertainingly, with Mr. Powell playing his customary role of Mr. Powell. Audience Member With power hitters like William Powell and Russell you will be hoping for more. 40 min into the movie before it builds up steam. Overall, if you choose to miss this one, you won't be missing much. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member good espionage rom-com Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member William Powell and Rosalind Russell make this tepid WW1 spy story more enjoyable than it deserved. Instead of being sent into combat, Powell is working behind a desk, but he then gets involved in a spy ring. The film does a pretty good job of balancing suspense and comedy, though it doesn't always quite come off. Still, the stars make this one well worth watching. And although not credited, Sam Wood took over the film's direction and the great James Wong Howe took over photography. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
