Mike P How stupid are these people? They escape from the island after 20 years of being lost; they make it back to Civilization and become big celebrities; everything's great. And then they idiotically allow Gilligan to take them on another boat tour through the local California harbor. Gilligan wrecks the compass, there's a terrible storm, and then they wind up right back on the same island again. (Of course!) That's exactly what they deserve for willingly stepping into such a stupid situation like that again. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review russell h I loved seeing the old cast back together again, minus Ginger. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review the s I was a big fan of the original series and was old/young enough to remeber watching it and then this coming out 15 years after the original series started. The original wasn't exactly intellectual high art or anything but still it was charming and clever and the storylines were creative and unique. Sherwood Schwartz proved that nepotism can destroy anything and so he hired his kids to write the script on this whale of a turd. And as a result, it was cartoonishly bad..a sad shadow of the clever original storylines and hard to even watch. Some of the jokes and gags are so bad that if they were written 15 years later, you'd think it was supposed to be ironically bad. But it's not. It's just bad. Real bad and the unfortunate part was that the network pushed this special for a month…it was highly anticipated at the time and people just wanted some closure from the original series that ended without any real closure. And Americans tuned in and got served up this steaming pile of embarrassment and I imagine it was as embarrassing for the cast to act in as it was for the public to watch. All in all, it probably did more damage to the original story than it did to provide any catharsis. I'm other words, we'd all been better off if they had just not made it, unfortunately. But Hollywood is nothing if not nepotism central and if this didn't teach producers that hiring relatives to write your stories is a really, really bad idea…nothing would. But yes very silly :) Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/06/19 Full Review Audience Member I loved this show! And this is a wonderful TV movie with a wonderful cast! The only thing that may be to goofy are the Russians. Other than that, it's still Gilligan, The Skipper, Mary Ann and the rest on Gilligan's Island!
