This documentary looks at the unconventional life of British writer and actor Quentin Crisp. An outwardly flamboyant gay man, Crisp endured many indignities as a youth in London. Eventually, however, he found recognition as an author and later as a theater performer both in England and across the pond in New York City. Among the famous who appear in the film are Sting and also John Hurt, who famously portrayed Crisp in a TV adaptation of the writer's renowned book "The Naked Civil Servant."

Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member An overly stylized portrait of a very interesting guy. I wish there was more Crisp, less Art in this movie. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Tender homage to eccentric anachronism, Quentin Crisp, an Englishman in New York and the original celebrity famous for being famous. "A professional failure." Great footage of a gritty pre-Guiliani Manhattan.
