Audience Member Clint Eastwood proves that he is one of a kind individual with a strong streak of headstrong maverick-ness, not too different from the many characters he has played onscreen. Anyone expecting Broncho Billy to be a typical western starring a stern, no nonsense Eastwood will be in for a shock. I think this movie is pure Eastwood: not trying for the spectacular or flashy, not aiming for any Oscars, but honest, well-crafted, original in theme, touching and memorable. It deserves more attention than it's gotten and is deeper than it's been given credit for. Eastwood himself has said that if he ever had anything to say as a director it's in this film. It's a great addition to Eastwood's large and impressive body of work, and shows yet again that he is never afraid to take chances. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member My wife saw this movie! I saw this movie! I watched my wife watch this movie! It was fantaaaastic! Best time I ever had. Thank you, to the producer of this movie! Finally... we saw it... So if you ask one more time, I am going to refer you to this review. We LOVED watching it! We miss Ruth. And we miss John.... Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member A cowboy at heart, born in modern times, Billy colors his reality with scenes from his favorite Hollywood westerns. Traffic becomes a herd of longhorns, strangers bring potential for an old west shootout and Barny's Beanery serves as a rustic saloon for a shot of "red eye." A cowboy without a horse (or even his own saddle) Billy transforms his world (and maybe yours) into an engaging sepia dream world that won an Academy Award as Best Short Subject Live Action in 1972.
