Fashion editor Ariel (Amanda Righetti) refuses to believe her sister's scary stories about the abandoned insane asylum on Haunted Hill. But, when her sister is found dead of an apparent suicide, Ariel and her boyfriend, Paul (Tom Riley), find a journal in her apartment that has information about a cursed statue worth millions, hidden on the asylum's grounds. The discovery leads deranged anthropology student Desmond (Erik Palladino) to kidnap the couple, forcing them to help find the statue.

A surprising improvement over the original. It isn’t one of the greatest sequels or horror movies ever made but at under 90 mins it gets the job done

This movie is a definite improvement over the first. The acting is a bit corny as one would expect from a horror movie, but overall not terrible. The plot about the statue is kind of dumb. The ghosts look really good and the doctor is still maniacal. The deaths and gore ate really well done and they look scary too. Plus we get a lesbian ghost scene I mean who doesn't love that right?! Overall I really enjoyed the movie I watched it back in 2008 and am rewashing it now in 2024. If you like the house of the dead movies you'll like this movie. I question all the 1 star reviews I question if you guys truly even like horror movies. It may not be on the level of the movie Insidious but I think this movie is still good.

This isn't a sequel and it has nothing to do with House on the Haunted Hill (original film). They just used that title to get people to watch this film (and to torture them). Do yourself a favor do not watch this film. Such a shame, a sequel had such potential.

Esta secuela de House On Haunted Hill es una espectacular continuación que nos lleva de regreso a la aterradora clínica maldita y que ofrece más horror y muerte. Curiosamente, revela el origen de toda la maldad en la residencia (cosa que la película anterior nunca ha mencionado) y a pesar de su trama simple, es entretenimiento asegurado. Está llena de escenas perturbadoras y terroríficas con buenas dosis de efectos especiales, CGI mejorado en comparación con la entrega anterior y gore. Al igual que la entrega anterior, la critica tampoco valoro esta película y lo triste de ello es que cerro las posibilidades de una tercera entrega. Esta película al menos sirve como cierre de la saga, pero con la escena post créditos que tiene hubiese sido genial otra entrega, ya que House Of Haunted Hill merecía convertirse en una saga. Mi calificación para esta película es un 9/10.
