British actor Andrew Lee Potts got his start by performing mostly in musical theatre after having studied at Leeds Performing Arts School. Potts began his film and television career even before he studied acting full time when in 1989 a then 10-year-old Potts appeared in the award-winning British drama series "Children's Ward." He started to act full time in the 1990s, appearing in television series and smaller budgeted films in mostly guest and character roles. He gained considerable notoriety in 2001 with a larger role in the World War II horror thriller "The Bunker" before being called upon by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks for the part of Pvt. Eugene Jackson in the epic mini-series "Band of Brothers." Potts's fame would increase in the 2000s as more starring parts in television and film would present themselves including a starring role in the 2003 British mystery series "Strange," along with a larger role in 2005's "Ideal," which also helped him land a role in the Hollywood film "1408" in 2007. Potts's breakthrough would finally come in 2007 as he won the lead playing student Connor Temple in the action adventure series "Primeval," which also starred his fiancée, Hannah Spearritt. The success of "Primeval" in England helped Potts gain recognition as a dependable actor, especially in the science fiction genre, and probably led to the part of the Hatter in the Syfy Channel's Emmy-nominated mini-series "Alice" in 2009.
