christopher c. m The science is so dumb on this. Plus it's 2004 not 1904 they use explosives to create small controlled avalanches these days. There's no such thing as a super avalanche. But I'm guessing the company that makes the Nature Unleashed franchise cares not for reality or science. Or a good movie as the avalanches is nothing but obvious stock-footage from controlled avalanches and really bad CGI. Plus the only funding they could get for a SKI resort was the mob? Ski resorts are very popular and profitable? The only way the banks would consider it a bad risk if there was already a popular resort in the area and worry about competition. That's like saying a beach resort where people surf is a bad risk. It's dumb and since when are loan sharks go around loaning the tens of millions it would take to build a massive hotel and ski resort? The answer is NEVER. They just wanted a reason why they wouldn't be stop because of the warning. At the time of writing this review I have not seen any of the other movies in this franchise. I tell you I am not looking forward to a series where the Roger Corman version is the better one. Despite being generally boring, there are some funny errors like that this film is supposedly set in Russia, yet the village seems to be occupied almost entirely by Americans or Canadians, there's a woman who seems to have a psychic connection with the mountain, an avalanche that gets caused by people driving a snow vehicle on a hill that is far away from the mountain, and there is also campy dialogue. There are far worse low-budget disaster movie turds, but this film is unfortunately a bore. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie took the use of styrofoam to a whole new level. I could almost feel the static of it sticking to me after the movie ended. Bland, subpar acting, and mediocre special effects, and although the concept seemed like it had potential, it's excitement dwindled quickly if it was ever there at all. All I can say is that I was quite frustrated throughout the entire thing, especially when they used random cloud development scenes for snow... ouch! Andrew-Lee Potts amazing as always ;) I just couldn't bear anyone giving him a coat!
