Judy Berman TIME Magazine It’s a character study wrapped in a crime thriller, generating more suspense from the question of what Alison will do next than of whether the cops will catch the crooks. Aug 1, 2025 Full Review John Powers NPR I feared it might be one of those worthy shows designed to teach me a valuable lesson. Instead, it tells a good story about a smart, underestimated woman who leaps at the chance to escape her dreary life. Aug 1, 2025 Full Review Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News Creator/writer Catherine Moulton takes her time in unfurling the action, which opens the door for Ayling-Ellis and Moore to add depth and dimension to their beautifully written parts. Rated: 3.5/4 Aug 1, 2025 Full Review Christopher Stevens Daily Mail (UK) Writer Catherine Moulton shows, without labouring the point, how police and catering bosses alike imagine Alison must be a bit thick, because she’s deaf. Rated: 4/5 Aug 4, 2025 Full Review Matt Roush TV Insider My only regret is that the absorbing Code of Silence ends after just six episodes. Thankfully, there will be more. Rated: 4/5 Aug 1, 2025 Full Review Deepa Gahlot Scroll.in The six-episode series is more than just an effective police procedural. It stands up for the disabled without waving flags or resorting to melodrama. Aug 1, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Lane M EXCELLENT SERIES, Very well done ! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/10/25 Full Review Markus N Rose Ayling-Ellis as the deaf main character plays her part to perfection. An otherwise well written story is only lightly watered down by forcing the "lone wolf" archetype on the main role a little bit too much, which would have worked, but in smaller doses. Still a thrilling watch and a great idea to involve lipreading and deaf representation into a crime drama. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/08/25 Full Review Jane M. I am always in search of a great crime drama and the Brits do it so well. Anything ‘International crime’ and I’m there. This one is no exception with a brilliant deaf actress who plays Alison. I had not seen her before so such a treat to discover and watch Rose in action. Where has she been? The story line is interesting enough but it really touches so well on how society pegs deaf people as inferior unintelligent and dismisses them as not being completely capable. This is the part of the story that really drew me into her character and how beautiful she shows her skillset She really shines. But it’s certainly not without a lot of going above and beyond. I think this is a must see that will open up your eyes and heart. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/06/25 Full Review Wendy D I'm terrible at suspense. I close my eyes. I take a day off between episodes. I worry about characters. But,most of all,I need the surprises to keepme engaged. This series is fast moving, full of interesting characters and unexpected situations. There has been low key screaming of "Alison! No! Don't do it!" You'd better believe she does it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/05/25 Full Review Eric M Imagine Sue Thomas FB EYE with a British accent and no "hearing dog". And signing in BSL instead of ASL. You then have a glimpse into this wonderful series. Can't wait for season 2. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/03/25 Full Review Mini M Crime thriller with stunning performances by Rose Ayling-Ellis and Kieron Moore. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/03/25 Full Review Read all reviews
