Dustin Rowles Pajiba Alicia Silverstone is great in this, and the cast is top-notch, but the writing fails the show at every turn. Aug 22, 2025 Full Review Grant Hermanns Screen Rant Alicia Silverstone is magnetic in her first leading TV role in years with Irish Blood, which feels just as cozy a drama as it does a messy mystery. Rated: 7/10 Aug 13, 2025 Full Review Lacy Baugher Paste Magazine Irish Blood is at its most compelling when it’s focused on Fiona herself. Nothing about this series works if we don’t care about her journey, and Silverstone allows her to be charmingly vulnerable throughout. Rated: 6.8/10 Aug 12, 2025 Full Review Joel Keller Decider The only reason why we’re recommending Irish Blood is that we like Silverstone and the rest of the cast. But the first episode has some tone and story problems that definitely give us pause about the rest of the first season. Aug 12, 2025 Full Review Anne Brodie What She Said Silverstone stars in and produces Irish Blood, entering an underworld of evil intent as complex as it is shocking. Good fun. Ken K I really tried but I couldn't watch the entire first episode, I gave up three quarters of the way in. I can't quite put my finger on it but this had nothing to pique my interest, the acting, the plot, the continuity, the setting, the narration, they all feel fake, contrived and canned. It's not really bad but rather cookie cutter, bland and meh. There are just many better things that one can watch. BTW, I read the audience reviews, they're not that good so how is this show scoring 100% on RT?? Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 09/09/25 Full Review Beth H I had high hopes for this mystery, but I wouldn't recommend it. You hang on through the forced, bad acting, only to have season 1 end without a conclusion. It's a cliff-hanger folks, so wait a year to hopefully learn the ending. But based on this first season, I doubt they will solve it in the second season. It's reminding me of Lost- tons of plot twists, new turns, with no real ending in the works. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/09/25 Full Review Mary B Tried to watch this twice. Nope. Alicia overdelivers her lines speaking painstakingly slow. Highly, highly implausible plot. Hallmark probably passed on this. Don’t bother. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/05/25 Full Review Alissa P. Refreshingly entertaining with strong interesting female leads, Irish Blood is a fun ride. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/02/25 Full Review Kass M Completely tedious. It's the old trope about the charming Irish fella who can't stay true to his marriage vows, so he leaves his battered wife and child behind and... goes back to Wicklow to become an accountant?! How much Jamieson's do you have to down before this sounds like a good idea? A mystery is set up with a key to a locker and a photo. But halfway through the first episode, viewers will struggle to care. There are some great Irish actors in this series: Simon Kirby and Dearbhla Molloy chief among them. Silverstone delivers her lines in such a slow, over-emphasized manner that you'd swear she was making sure non-native English-speakers would understand her. Her acting skill reminds us why we haven't seen her in anything for decades. It's not even worth it for the Irish scenery. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/17/25 Full Review Patricia K Definitely has possibilities. I've only watched one episode but I'm looking forward to more. Beautiful scenery and intriguing plot.
