What to Know

Critics Consensus

Vladimir is a promisingly erotic and academic endeavor that cuts through the clichéd noise of typical sex comedies with inspired vigor and actors who make discussions about desire exciting, intellectual, and affecting.

The show may not have much new to say about contemporary academia or even campus culture, but Weisz brings to life its staging of the complexity of her reawakening sexuality. Go to Full Review

Weisz is fabulous here, completely on fire. Go to Full Review

Despite this unpromising start, “Vladimir” proves strangely compelling. Even when we think we know where the series is going, it remains as slippery as its unreliable narrator, difficult to nail down in both genre and intent. Go to Full Review
James Croot The Post NZ 3d
Crackling with chemistry, caustic remarks and conversations that go sideways, Vladimir is sharply and smartly observed tale of literary aspirations and lust. Go to Full Review
Neely Swanson Beverly Hills Courier Apr 21
The writing is sharp, the dialogue sly and the overall effect is a delicious soap opera of dark humor. Starting a bit slowly, eventually these eight episodes fly by. You will want to binge. Go to Full Review

Jim S @js2727272727 6d Loved the show. Great acting, great writing. I do have to make a special negative shout out to the music supervisor. The music chosen was SO bad, every time something dramatic happened they chose either the worst song you've ever heard and/or something that was so on the nose (i.e. the character's going crazy and the song says 'going crazy'). The music supervision was so colossally bad. As soon as the show ended, another terrible song came on for the credits. But hey, that was the only bad thing! See more Larrie H. @RT01895838 Apr 8 The fantasy and chemistry are spot on. And it's a gradual process which makes it hotter. See more Andrei D @RT74856639 Apr 6 Weisz's considerable charm cannot fully carry it, Vlad is pretty dumb but in a fun way, but it chickens out as it nears its disappointing ending See more Alessandro A @RT14928326 Apr 5 I can't think of a good reason to keep watching this series. The jokes are predictable, and I can't find a single character who's three-dimensional enough to be interesting. Maybe it's the latest trend to make all the main characters unlikeable, but it doesn't work for me. See more Ivan S @Vanhill Apr 4 It is funny how russian narrative still makes filmmakers think that we all will feel excited and enchanted by their mysterious souls. I see butchers of Bucha, and an inhumane heard of invaders and liars under yet another dictator. Good effort but poor context See more Read all reviews
