matthias S @Thescreenasvor 2d Invincible season 4 left me a bit mixed. I had really high hopes going in and while it’s definitely still good, it didn’t fully captivate me the way previous seasons did. The animation and battles are absolutely insane though, easily some of the best action I’ve ever seen in an animated show. Every fight feels huge and brutal. But the balance between the emotional drama and nonstop fighting felt a little off this time, like some quieter moments didn’t hit as hard as they should’ve. Still, I’m definitely still a fan of the show and I’ll 100% be watching next season to see where it goes. The redemption arc for Nolan is decent. Some of the battle stuff goes on way too long and is unnecessarily gross, but that has always been the case. There is also a lack of consequences - they should have taken the dramatic opportunity to kill off some of the cast as it becomes more and more bloated. The teen drama stuff PROBABLY should have fallen by the wayside as Mark grows up and has bigger issues to deal with. See more PIXELEYE P @RT97739115 May 12 Season 4 was great! Story wise, I am really invested in this universe and the show’s characters! I did find the Viltrumite war to be a bit underwhelming however. I would’ve liked to see more of it, with the coalition’s warships clashing with Viltrumite warships while the main characters are fighting on the ground. Instead we just get a short montage of it which is a shame imo. But everything else was 10/10 writing and plot-wise! Unfortunately, the animation is a real problem in this show. The animation goes from mediocre to downright deplorable! Constant cases of "PNJ dragging", 3D models clipping through objects, background characters are clearly just bad recycled assets, entire static scenes where no one moves while dialogue plays, and most characters not having as much detail as they should have. For a show with such a high budget, once you notice it, it's impossible to ignore! They keep spending way too much on voice acting celebrities instead of animation and it's a real shame! Once again, the world-building, humor, and soundtrack are absolutely fantastic, giving the series a unique energy that sets it apart from the rest of the genre. The action also took a major leap forward this season, especially in the Thragg storylines, with the Emperor of Viltrum more than living up to the hype. Nolan continues to be the emotional core of the show, and his struggle to reconcile with his unforgivable past remains one of the most compelling aspects of the series. While I do not think this season quite reaches the incredible highs of Seasons 1 or 3, and the animation can still be inconsistent at times, it is nevertheless top-tier television that I highly recommend.
