Devin B. @ObXessed_n3 4d I was extremely disappointed by Mating Season. It felt like a low-effort cash grab rather than a genuinely creative project. Coming from the team behind Big Mouth, I expected much more. What made Big Mouth work was that, beneath all the crude humor, there were interesting characters and meaningful storylines. Mating Season, on the other hand, felt overly focused on sex jokes without much substance to back them up. The comedy felt cheap, the plot development was weak, and most of the characters seemed surface-level. Instead of building engaging stories, the show seemed to rely on shock value and repetitive sexual humor. Overall, it was a major letdown and a missed opportunity from a creative team that has done much better work in the past. As the series progresses, it becomes more "decent," but that's all it is; it doesn't stand out in any way. There are 2 or 3 episodes that are actually very good, but other than that, the rest are just sex and animals. The 4 characters who are there since the beginning create a comforting atmosphere, their friendship feels really genuine and its fun to explore more of their lore and character throughout the show.
