While America’s Culinary Cup doesn’t reinvent the cooking competition genre, an energetic hosting job by Lakshmi, the elite chefs in the competition, and the format tweaks by Lakshmi and her fellow producers make the show an entertaining watch. Go to Full Review

If Bravo had cancelled Top Chef and this was Padma’s reboot of it, I’d say: Wow, Top Chef improved! If you like what Top Chef does, I can easily recommend this. ... I’m just missing [the promised] "thrill of sports" and "something new and different" Go to Full Review

Suzanne J. @RT48870610 1d Not enough focus on the food and the game play doesn't reward the best chefs. Judges are annoying. Very disappointing. See more Jill N @RT98968850 2d I LOVE the idea of the show. It just focuses too much on the drama of the judges. Wasn't able to focus on the actual dishes, too much was cut out of the show, and how the components were put ine dishes. The chefs were great, but I think think the show was too focused on everything else but the food. Won't be looking forward to the next season. See more Jill F @Jilly58 5d It's all about Padma's drama, wardrobe, and NPD. The "commandments" are nonsensical in that they're just broad categories, like "Mastering Meat" or "Mastering Dessert". The show recruited highly acclaimed chefs, but the challenges are so poorly designed that they don't showcase the chefs' considerable talents. The scoreboard is hokey and ridiculous. I would be even more disappointed had I expected more, but given that Padma was unlikeable on Top Chef (good riddance!), it is predictably all about Padma. See more Dos G @dosgringos Apr 16 Oh, Padma. I was expecting the Chef's Table version of Top Chef, but got so much less. That first episode was reminiscent of Beat Bobby Flay and so disrespectful to your contestants. They should have been competing based on their scores alone, not some backroom/backstabbing dealings you conjured up for no good reason. Those grumpy high scorers you ejected in the first episode should have been bitching about the ill-conceived structure of the show in their exit interviews. And the commandments concept is so haughty, it is laughable. This show needs a Dawn Powerwash😜. See more Helen S @RT74586215 Apr 4 Boring judges, boring Padma and boring contestants. The challenges are snooty and the decor is ugly and cold. Cannot understand why Padma left Top Chef for this second rate show. See more H H @HHHHHH739 Mar 29 Feels overproduced and forced. The chefs don't seem to be happy to be there. I love Padma as a person but she comes across as a little haughty as the main focus of the show. Maybe the whole cooking competition genre is getting a little long in the tooth. See more Read all reviews
