Mississippi is one of 18 states where the governor and lieutenant governor are elected separately, which means they can come from different parties. That election quirk makes for a fascinating political set-up. Go to Full Review

This is definitely one of Tyler Perry's better looking productions, but the humor the series relies on bogs down what could be a home-run sitcom. Go to Full Review

This series struggles to balance comedy with topics on politics and race. Go to Full Review
Joel Keller Decider May 27
Despite some interesting elements and the steadying presence of Vaughn, the sillier elements of Tyler Perry’s She The People overwhelm what could have been a funny story about messy families and racial politics. Go to Full Review

She the People isn't the best, but considering Tyler Perry, it's quite entertaining. Go to Full Review

It isn’t exactly high art, but Tyler Perry’s She the People is at least deliberately funny instead of accidentally funny, and on that level, it is a lot easier to take seriously than his more ridiculous dramatic fare. Go to Full Review

john a @RT46942195 Oct 6 i liked the governor and Jed but not Basil or the girlfriend. Can't wait for the next season See more Pasquale C @RT08733664 Sep 23 Find the show very interesting and enjoyable to watch... See more Catherine G @RT24990915 Aug 25 Not one of my favorite from Tyler Perry. The fact that we continue victimizing color is just getting old. Try better I am sure you can make it better. It does have a few good laughs but please stop victimizing yourself by doing the same you are claiming that has been done to you. See more P J @RT15639332 Aug 23 Amazing show, entertaining plot line with even better actors See more Wellington N @RT64606711 Aug 15 So this is to empower black people?? Really?? On Episode 14 and want to puke. Annoying to be honest and won't finish this nonsense .Why always make her submissive? See more James T @RT68267676 Aug 15 The show’s premise is strong, with enough potential to carry another three or four seasons. While some supporting actors deliver solid performances, others fall flat. A few stereotypical caricatures are so overplayed they become distracting, even irritating. Terri J. Vaughn’s portrayal of the main character feels overly weak and submissive; I had hoped she would project more strength and presence. Perhaps Tyler Perry is intentionally pacing her growth for a later payoff. Still, the series delivers plenty of laughs, stays engaging, and is ultimately worth the watch. See more Read all reviews
