What to Know

Critics Consensus

Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman are diabolically fun to watch in The Hunting Wives, a risqué soap that turns bad behavior into highly bingeable fun.

Craig Mathieson The Age (Australia) The desire for female friendship is an intriguing lens, but the story is taken up with mildly outrageous behaviour and the growing shadow of a murder enquiry. Rated: 2.5/5 Aug 18, 2025 Full Review Linda Holmes NPR It's silly, it's raunchy, it's high drama. But if it's up your alley, you might find it a pretty well-executed bit of summer entertainment. Aug 7, 2025 Full Review Christina Cauterucci Slate The Hunting Wives is so devoted to its sexual plots that it asks us to suspend everything we know about actual human sexuality. Aug 1, 2025 Full Review Denise Zubizarreta LatinaMedia.Co It has the glossy feel of a prestige drama, but the narrative weight of a Bravo after-show. Rated: C- Aug 11, 2025 Full Review Joyce Slaton Common Sense Media With plenty of down-low sex and twists that lean either soap opera or murder mystery, this series is enjoyable trashy fun, elevated by familiar faces. Aug 4, 2025 Full Review Karina Adelgaard Womentainment A thriller series with a deliciously sapphic storyline and lots of steamy moments. It’s a total guilty pleasure to watch, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t also extremely well-made. Rated: 4/5 Aug 4, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Jim P. 2 stars ONLY because it was a decent mystery with a few curveballs thrown in…but my goodness are these people in need of major therapy and a definite personality change. I mean these people are self-involved, narcissistic raunchy as hell low life’s!!!!BUT the mystery was decent, just felt like I needed a shower after I finished each episode! Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/19/25 Full Review Audience Member Absolute trash. Bad acting, ugly costumes, awkward lines, full of clichés. The story drags with no suspense. Characters are flat and unbelievable. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/19/25 Full Review Andrei D It's much too melodrama, especially toward the end, but Snow is pot committed and it really shows Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/19/25 Full Review Roark 0 If you like soft core porn with lots of lesbian sex and particularly like Brittany Snow without clothing, this might just be for you. But as a script, it's all trashy pulp fiction pretending to be more. Oh, and for those on the political right, get ready for Christian bashing, wholesale Texas stereotyping and and amoral behavior at the hands of homicidal psychopaths. The three stars are for those comedic elements, however unintended. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/18/25 Full Review John S Watched the first episode. It seemed like it might be a good story, but by the end of the episode we decided that it was just soft core porn. Some viewers might consider the language and sex "real life," and the way things are among the rich (or anybody) But women calling each other c**ts and a woman performing oral sex on a teen boy and saying she'll "swallow" is not entertaining. There are plenty of porn sites; don't need Netflix for this. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/18/25 Full Review Tamara S Inconsistency - that is what I hated in it. And not just with one character, with many: smart enough to figure out things with very limited information but utterly dumb when it comes to do their next moves. Idk... it was promising in the beginning and the actors do a fantastic job, but the last episode ruined it for me. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/17/25 Full Review Read all reviews
