If the actors are too old to be doing this, Stranger Things itself feels fairly energetic and youthful... The formula still largely works after all this time, and in most ways, the new episodes are a substantial improvement over the bloated fourth season.

Forced unnecessary drama and conflict between characters is endlessly monotonous, annoying, lazy writing that makes me not want to watch.

This is how you start a final season, bringing together what was built up over many years and taking it to an extreme level of excitement, action, and fun, alongside actors whose characters we've seen evolve incredibly. But we're not ready yet because these are only the first four episodes; there's still more to see of this epic finale and the fate of Hawkins.
