The show probably should have hung up its hat a season or two earlier—but it’s never easy to say goodbye, a sentiment that the Stranger Things finale ultimately proved. Go to Full Review

If nothing else, Stranger Things’ operatic exit serves as a reminder familiarity needn’t be a bad thing when executed with such earnest conviction, and that each generation needs -- even deserves -- its own band of heroic nerds to root for. Go to Full Review

No matter how weak the dialogue or how many plot holes you encounter, you’ll always go back for more. This is why it’s so disappointing that the show never quite delivers on its promises. Go to Full Review

Leanne P @LeanneTheFan 6h What a disappointment that last season was. It looked like none of the actors wanted to be there. See more Vincent S 14h This is by far the worst season and I cannot fathom how anyone liked this season and/or believes it was a good finale. We were told from the jump that the Mindflayer was the strongest and baddest villain, controlling Vecna. Only to have Eleven and the gang take both down in 20 seconds. What a waste of time. Eleven literally trained for a year; basically, it was all just to jump high. Vecna, supposedly strong, can infiltrate minds, yet Will gets in his head and takes over in a second. Vecna got into Eleven's mind, yet just can't mess with WIll. So many plotholes, so many terrible one-liners. Once again my opinion, but this could possibly be the worst season finale ever in the history of ever. Duffer Bro's are woof. See more Cjlminer3 H. @Cjlminer 1d It was amazing till the very end See more Daniel O @Olshansk 2d It took me a while to both start and finish season 5. I liked it. I didn’t love it. I mostly just wanted to finish the series, even though it didn’t captivate me the way it once did. The plot was good. I wasn’t mind-blown, but I liked it. I appreciated it. It made sense. All the storylines aligned. I felt the same about the fight sequences, character arcs, and everything else. The one thing they absolutely nailed was the ending. It’s not easy to land a series like this, but the writers managed to find a strong compromise. What was phenomenal, obviously, was the chemistry between the actors. It’s Harry Potter all over again. The one thing no amount of money can replace is a cast growing up together. Is Stranger Things going to stand the test of time? Probably not. But it had a really good run, and it made it past the finish line. See more Bailey C @Baileyclarkin 3d What a roller coaster of a final season - although maybe it feels slightly rushed, by the final episode you see it was just right. An ending with a twist that leaves you hanging and multiple (I mean MULTIPLE) conspiracies you can hold on to and keep looking into. They have added these touches in such simple manners and honestly for anyone thinking this season has flopped - you just need to open your eyes a little wider. If you think something wasn’t right - it probably wasn’t right for a reason - to keep us thinking… Such beautiful work and such a masterpiece. See more Helena L @Hlenny18 3d The writing for the whole season feels stilted and awkward - I think some of the dialogue is so bad that I saw better fan theories for the ending on Tiktok - I think they wasted a lot of screen time with the new kids and Holly, without actually wrapping up any of the original characters stories and plotholes. The Duffers ended up sidelining a lot of characters that have carried the show for years like El and Will especially. I wanted more character interactions between the original party. The final battle felt way too easy and I would've preferred if they had killed off more people to at least make it more emotional. Lastly, El sacrificing herself was a disgusting ending for an amazing character who deserved so much better. The writing felt very misogynistic and did not do justice to its queer characters, El's ending could've been written differently and I dont believe she needed to die. Not your best work Duffers, will not be supporting you again. See more Read all reviews
