What to Know

Critics Consensus

Continuing to peek through the satirical façade of socialite life, Your Friends & Neighbors' second season digs itself into a deeper and richer character hole, where Hamm, Munn, and Marsden make like bandits and steal the show.

Ashe is the kind of fresh juice a second season needs, even if it ultimately leads things to a preposterously far-fetched climax. Go to Full Review

Sometimes, it’s OK to enjoy things that are meant to be enjoyed. That’s what Coop’s doing, that’s what Jon Hamm is doing, and in Season 2, we can join them. Go to Full Review

In Season 2, “Your Friends & Neighbors” gets more textured, showcasing a different level of affluence, the costs of lies and why wealthy white men, in particular, constantly fail upward. Go to Full Review

In terms of tone, the series maintains a balance between irony, tension, and social commentary. It doesn't seek to surprise with constant plot twists, but rather with the accumulation of morally ambiguous decisions. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Jon Hamm is still the engine that drives Your Friends and Neighbors, but the addition of James Marsden adds a new flavor to the series that makes it an exceptionally fun time. Go to Full Review

Joe W @JoeWasik 1d At first this series looked great, but then to prepare for season 2, I binged season 1 again. I got tired of having to watch yet another sex scene. I got tired of this look-how-smart-we-are dialog. I got tired about everyone being sooo confident all the time. I got tired of yet another moody teenager. See a trend? See more R T @RT59535910 2d Jon Hamm is one of my favorite actors. He is a serious actor playing this role realistically as the underdog, inappropriate for a series in which he is the main character. James Marsden has turned into the protagonist in the second season, playing it tongue and cheek, over the top, a parody which works much better for this storyline, already surreal. It upsets me to see Jon Hamm one-upped this way and be totally dominated by the James Marsden character. Have never understood Amanda Peek's appeal. She works so often, always brittle. Her portrayal makes me uncomfortable, too, as usual. So I don't feel motivated to continue watching this. One review said it was about women beating down men. These are two spectacular male actors. I wonder if they understood the tone of this series when they took the roles? It won't matter, their careers will still continue, but the script has turned cringey unfortunately. Ooooh! See more Kim C @KimCostello 2d It is becoming extremely contrived and they seem to lean very heavily on sex scenes and low vibing Behavior See more Philip L @RT57424908 3d I like the performances, Amanda Peet particularly, but this show thinks it’s way cooler than it actually is. I’m on the fence as to whether I’ll continue watching the second season. See more Bob B @BBfromY 4d I was looking forward to Season 2 but have pulled the plug at Episode 4. It's tedious and blatantly political. Persevered through the first three episodes but number 4 ended it for me. See more Hamza T @RT12245575 4d Not nearly as good as season 1. Episode 4 is basically written to be Israeli Passover propaganda. See more Read all reviews
