David Ehrlich IndieWire Reworked from Yeon’s comic of the same name (co-written by Choi Gyu-seok), “Revelations” is the kind of layered yet messy adaptation that results from someone trying to find new ways of telling a story they’ve almost thought to death already. Rated: C Mar 21, 2025 Full Review Robert Daniels RogerEbert.com A ponderous picture lacking narrative momentum. Rated: 1.5/4 Mar 21, 2025 Full Review Christopher Cross Asynchronous Media A messy narrative that works best when settled on a single character, Revelations too often drags its feet trying to perfectly position its religious musings with moral convictions... Rated: 2.5/5 Apr 2, 2025 Full Review Chris Joyce Movies and Munchies (YouTube) The imagery is impressive and haunting, allowing us to peer into the mind of a zealot, and while the mystery aspect can become secondary to the thrills of pursuit, the story continues to increase stressful dread before arriving at its resolutions. Rated: 4/5 Mar 31, 2025 Full Review Emma Vine Loud and Clear Reviews The film’s gritty tone intertwines with the story’s character-driven narrative, demonstrating the complexities of humankind. As always, Yeon Sang-ho exhibits such elements effortlessly, which is the filmmaker’s greatest strength. Rated: 3.5/5 Mar 28, 2025 Full Review JK Sooja Common Sense Media For viewers who stick around to the end, there's a rewarding conclusion to this moody thriller. JesSica S Must watch....plot is so interesting and gives you thrills. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/25 Full Review José T Esta muy bien para pasar el rato. El final bastante predecible. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/29/25 Full Review Jack R I asked my family to watch this and I am now banned from picking movies based on how bad this movie is. Slowest pacing, flimsy plot, unlikeable cast this movie on Netflix is 2 hours and 11 minutes. It could have gotten everything it tried to get across in that time in a snappy 50 minutes Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/27/25 Full Review Dave Darwin B One of the best Revenge Thrillers from South Korea which is based on a webtoon. Great film from Director Yeon Sang-Ho, the man behind the Korean horror movie Train to Busan. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/26/25 Full Review vitor b Except for small problems in the final axes of the script (like when investigator Yeon-hee quickly discover both the location of the killer and the victim), the film is impeccable. All the elements combined succeeded in an exceptional way. The only thing that could have been changed is the speed of the final events - the lack of unknowns for the situation in which the victim found herself - and the lack of explanation about the villain's development. Giving a slight feeling that it was the only part that was rushed to the point of sounding basic to the plot, despite the feeling of tension about where the victim was... it was the only moment in which it left something to be desired due to the slight simplicity in short steps, which created a sentimental vacuum that could have been filled. Because apart from these aspects, it was indeed one of the best films I have ever seen. Impeccable script, goosebumps-inducing acting, almost perfect sequence of events, not to mention the fear and tension (or terror) perfectly symbolized, especially in the final scenes that are worthy of goosebumps and reflection. An excellent film. It deserves all the success. Everything was almost perfectly orchestrated! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/23/25 Full Review Estef M I mean, interesting story, but unrealistic plot. I didn’t care about any character. The resolution to the mystery was rushed and anticlimatic. On the other habd there was some good acting, aside from the detective character’s. That one was poor.
