Steve D Slow and forgettable. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 12/28/23 Full Review S R A Hitchcock film that had eluded me. When I found it on Amazon I was glad to watch it. It was a dated almost voyeuristic film about being and average Brit couple who gets money, only to travel the world and lose each other in temptation. Of course, the refind their love and come back in the end. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 10/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Hitchcock's Rich and Strange has a decent premise: some sudden and unexpected wealth comedically makes a bored married couple lose their sense of right and wrong. It's a classic corruption-of-money fable that's only real issue is in the tone. Most of the time, it's a fairly straightforward screwball rom-com…except when it unceremoniously dips into extreme and unwanted drama. Still, when it's foot is firmly in the bumbling idiocy of the couple, it's a good time…and the shipwreck is surprising and cool. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review zed b Not his best offering, give it a pass, Hitchcock hits a low point with this one! Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Odd story but technically inspiring. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review joel h The casual approach to marriage and infidelity in Rich and Strange was, well, strange. I think it would have made more sense to me if the main characters were merely dating when these events occurred. Plus, the ending felt out of place. I almost liked this movie, if only because of Joan Barry. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Dave Kehr Chicago Reader And so it is: this early (1932) Hitchcock film shows more signs of the artist to come than any of his other British movies. Sep 4, 2004 Full Review Michael Barrett PopMatters Hitchcock’s Rich and Strange follows a clueless English couple wandering the world and being chastened by what they find: their flawed selves. Mar 5, 2022 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy Rich and Strange is indeed a thematically rich and occasionally strange movie.
