Andrew Y Nov 7 Possibly the worst film I’ve ever seen. A lesson in how not to make films, this is inexcusably dreadful, and fails in every way. The acting is astonishingly bad, using a joke of a script and being misdirected by someone who was obviously completely inebriated………. See more 11/29/2015 Every element of this film is poor, apart from the beautiful mountains of Rouen. Which are imaginary. I think this film may have begun as a project to explain how much anguish can come from a family being at war. That story could have been set in Rome last week. There is no effort to get to grips with the actual story of Henry Ii's relationship with his wife and sons, and the French king ie why they wanted to wrest lands and power from Henry.With a clearer historical vision, better actors and a decent script, a far better film could have emerged. The bedroom scene at the start with a bare breasted Eleanor negotiating a pact made me think it was a French farce. If they had included some Pythonesque Knights Who Say Ni ("We want........a shrubbery!") I would have awarded another star. See more Read all reviews
