Trace Sauveur Austin Chronicle Rising Wolf gets so caught up in the idea of a supposed potential franchise that it forgets to make you care about the film you're currently watching. Rated: 1.5/5 Aug 17, 2021 Full Review Richard Kuipers Variety A confusing and derivative Aussie combo of hostage thriller and sci-fi fantasy. May 2, 2021 Full Review Joel Harley Starburst It makes for a solid sci-fi thriller but is much more complicated than a movie about a woman stuck inside a yo-yo elevator needs to be. Rated: 3/5 Aug 20, 2021 Full Review Nathaniel Muir AIPT Charlotte Best does a fantastic job and there are some impressive effects. The premise is an interesting one, but the lack of cohesive story is hurts the overall impact. Aug 10, 2021 Full Review Thom Ernst Original Cin Overheated performances and an absurd premise are among the many reasons to give this elevator death-trap thriller (yes really) a pass. Aug 6, 2021 Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com "Rising Wolf" has one thing in its favor: it's a killer elevator movie. Okay, so not the good kind of killer elevator movie. KANGABOY Streetwear Tried real hard and fails just as hard. A silly waste of time. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/09/24 Full Review Sam G Relatively boring, and the main "twist" was easy to see from a mile away. End result was essentially a deus ex machina. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/24 Full Review Audience Member One of the worst movies I have ever seen, and I’ve seen bad movies. Unlike other bad movies that just disinterest or confuse you to sleep, this one FRUSTRATES AND ANNOYS! It is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/19/23 Full Review Lorna C What a waste if time, a movie with no story, or point. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Overall, as a directional debut by Antaine Furlong, this film is quite an achievement for Australian Cinema. The film is visually stunning to watch from start to finish, with excellent CGI work and an impressive soundtrack by composer David Hirschfelder. Performances are generally acceptable, and the film's plot, for the most part, is also pleasing, but it certainly lacks detail and clarity. As a directional debut, it's a step in the right direction, and I look forward to what's to come from Antaine Furlong. Based on this film's quality and production, viewing it on a giant screen with an impressive sound system is best. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/11/23 Full Review christopher f It never went anywhere really. Seems like a great concept very poorly executed.
