Kai is a mute high school student who is taking care of his mother. He finds solace in nature, as well as memories of his late shaman grandfather. While trying to cope with the pressures of life at home and intimidation from a bully at school, Kai becomes depressed and begins pushing his loved ones away. He is ultimately faced with a decision. Will he continue down a dark path of negativity? Or, with his grandfather's wisdom as his guide, will Kai embrace his destiny and become the beacon of light that he was meant to be? Bobby LePire Film Threat Rite Of The Shaman is an engaging, dramatic look at the obstacles life throws our way. Rated: 7.5/10 Oct 12, 2022 Full Review Roger Moore Movie Nation The writing lacks subtlety...The acting is uneven — tepid to unpolished. It’s entirely too touchy-feely and squishy to grapple its subject in a compelling and meaningful way. Rated: 1.5/4 Oct 9, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews

christian r This movie has been described to me as a curriculum in compassion, and it is. In just over an hour, with the help of gorgeous scenery and a powerful score, Rite of the Shaman will move you in a way you will not soon forget. I'm not kidding. See this one.
