Nick F @RT48882955 11/08/2024 Robber's Roost is a 1950's Western which follows a familiar and therefore predictable trail. George Montgomery is rather subdued as a gunman searching for a the man who murdered his wife, and the trail leads to a cattle ranch which has a disabled owner who relies on a bunch of untrustworthy cowboys to run it and who plan to steal his herd. Montgomery, as gunman Tex, sees what is going on, and also falls for the rancher's pretty sister. Inevitably, a showdown looms, and Richard Boone turns in his usual smirking performance as the leader of the band of thieves. The film was directed by Sidney Salkow who also co- wrote the screenplay so has to take some blame for the slow pace of what is otherwise a very competent Western.
