Audience Member What an amazing life! An artistic career spanning decades is explored in this engrossing and entertaining doc. Forging ahead on his own through the battlefield of highbrow Art society, Williams lays across the barbwire to let flow a tide of modern artists and an entire Art movement embodied in Juxtapoz Magazine, founded on his outlaw rebel beliefs. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Excellent documentary of an overlooked master artist. This film explores Robert Williams life focusing on his powerful obsessive artistic passion spanning over 5 decades. It shows how, early on in the 50s/60s, "low brow" hot rod culture helped him survive and thrive as an illustrator. After that, how his inspiration from comics, incorporated with comic story structure with mind expanding drugs, the "fifth dimension, intellectual drive, deep contemplation and research of historical figures, paleontology, the effects of color and large breasts on an audience combined to help him flourish as such an outrageous and controversial painter! If you are lucky enough to see the movie with a Q&A, don't miss seeing him! The screening I attended, as part of the Mocca festival, included his very devoted and brilliantly matched wife, as well as Blondie, a willing subject of one of his salacious tour de force paintings.
