Lena Wilson New York Times Given the cast's three outstanding performances and slick camerawork by Nicolás Colledani, this makes for a fascinating capsule of family brutality. Aug 9, 2021 Full Review Alexandra Heller-Nicholas The Blue Lenses Masterfully directed, perfectly cast and immaculately paced, Rock, Paper and Scissors is further evidence that when looking for the contemporary epicentre of exciting, fresh work in the horror genre, we need look nowhere further than Argentina Jan 9, 2020 Full Review Anton Bitel Sight & Sound claustrophobic, darkly comic thriller recalls Grey Gardens, Misery, Braid and especially Shrew's Nest in showing a dangerous domestic dysfunction that, for all its unhinged exaggeration, may strike a dissonant chord with anyone who has family. Aug 19, 2019 Full Review Dave Giannini InSession Film The most painful movies are not those that are actually bad. Instead, it is the films that have a kernel of a good idea. Rock, Paper, and Scissors is one of the upsetting latter. Rated: C Feb 23, 2024 Full Review Daniel Gorman In Review Online It all works, for a while, but gradually Rock, Paper and Scissors, like its namesake, starts spinning its wheels, repeatedly treading the same ground to diminishing effect. Jul 23, 2021 Full Review Dennis Harvey 48 Hills A mixed bag that nonetheless will pique the interest of those attracted to willfully eccentric cinema that seems aimed at a cult audience. brad p Although the themes have been explored before, this claustrophobic tale of psychotic siblings who live in a closed-off fantasy world of their own making is definitely worth checking out. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member as others have already pointed out, i got "Misery" vibes too - as well as "The Shrew" vibes - nothing in this film is really that original or creative as so many other films do similar things, but it's not a bad watch. however, if you haven't seen either of the previously mentioned films, i'd recommend you watch those instead. to be honest it was just kind of boring; they were weirdos, but nothing really dangerous was happening. although that's QUITE a flight of stairs if it can injure/kill multiple people as it had/was going to. the ending did surprise me a bit; would've liked a little more closure, however as i sort of alluded earlier i wasn't really that invested anyway. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Outstanding performance from the limited cast, put in the spotlight by the innovative camera work. A film that will most certainly keep you on the edge of your seat. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Read all reviews
