While the film may have some flaws in its writing like the behavior of Mickey in certain scenes, elements of the final fight and an uneven tone. Rocky 3 is still a good sports drama with a lot of entertainment.

The plot is repetitive but flows naturally. It has all the inspiring & intense moments that are expected but with some unexpected developments that strengthen the franchise overall. It's old & overacted but justifies its existence.

Very much a film of the ’80s. Not only did it co-star 1980s icons like Mr. T and Hulk Hogan, but it made Rocky a bit more musclebound than he’d been earlier, in line with the G.I. Joe aesthetics of the time. (40th anniversary)
