Renee Schonfeld Common Sense Media Beautiful visuals, rewarding story of transcontinental train Rated: 4/5 Jul 19, 2016 Full Review Andrew L. Urban Urban Cinefile The combination of aerial photography with archival material provides plenty of texture not just eye candy, and the simplicity of the film allows the giant IMAX images to rule Feb 22, 2016 Full Review Linda Cook Quad City Times (Davenport, IA) 'Rocky Mountain Express' not only shows the Canadian Rockies in all their glory, but it also demonstrates what it's like to ride on The Empress, aka the Canadian Pacific 2816, a restored train from the 1930s. Audience Member Good movie right here recommended James Welch, Henderson, Arkansas August 7, 2023 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Interesting enough. Are we running out of ideas for IMAX movie subjects? Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member I think that this train movie is the best one ever! The CP 2816 is such a historical steam locomotive and one of my favourites. I hope the DVD and BLURAY for the movie comes out soon!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Saw this movie in the Denver IMAX Theatre - we all loved it. Would like to rent for my Canadian friends. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Great film. Surprising it took place in Canada though. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member The best IMAX movie I have seen yet. I liked it better then Everest which had held my top spot for the last 10 years. The story behind the building of the railway is amazing and the way they used the maps to show you how it was built was cool. They placed cameras all over the train and tied all the various film segments together to make you feel like you were traveling with them. I was in Victoria, BC over the summer and saw this and went back and saw it a total of 3 times. My wife thinks I am nuts and I agree but I can not wait for the day this comes out on blue ray.
