The combination of aerial photography with archival material provides plenty of texture not just eye candy, and the simplicity of the film allows the giant IMAX images to rule Go to Full Review

'Rocky Mountain Express' not only shows the Canadian Rockies in all their glory, but it also demonstrates what it's like to ride on The Empress, aka the Canadian Pacific 2816, a restored train from the 1930s. Go to Full Review

08/07/2023 Good movie right here recommended James Welch, Henderson, Arkansas August 7, 2023 See more 01/18/2016 Interesting enough. Are we running out of ideas for IMAX movie subjects? See more 12/27/2013 I think that this train movie is the best one ever! The CP 2816 is such a historical steam locomotive and one of my favourites. I hope the DVD and BLURAY for the movie comes out soon!! See more 11/30/2013 Saw this movie in the Denver IMAX Theatre - we all loved it. Would like to rent for my Canadian friends. See more 10/12/2013 Great film. Surprising it took place in Canada though. See more 01/08/2013 The best IMAX movie I have seen yet. I liked it better then Everest which had held my top spot for the last 10 years. The story behind the building of the railway is amazing and the way they used the maps to show you how it was built was cool. They placed cameras all over the train and tied all the various film segments together to make you feel like you were traveling with them. I was in Victoria, BC over the summer and saw this and went back and saw it a total of 3 times. My wife thinks I am nuts and I agree but I can not wait for the day this comes out on blue ray.
